"Singin' in the Rain" was writen by; Betty Comden and Adolph Green, produced by; Arthur Freed and directed by; Gene Kelly and Stanley Donen. This film was released March 27th, 1952 and was not a big hit when it was released. Now it is described as one of the best musicals ever made. It is a great story about the transition between silent films to films with sound. The stars of this film are; Gene kelly as Don Lockwood a silent film star, Jean Hagen as Lina Lamont a very annoying and bad talented actor, Debbie Reynolds as Kathy Selden a talented singer and dancer, Donald O'Connor as Cosmo Brown a friend of Don's as well as a singer, tancer and musician and last but not least, Millard Mitchell as R.F. Simpson head of the studio Monumental Pictures.
I realy liked this movie for it was funny at times and (Usaly I dislike musicals) the musical bits were nicely done! The one thing I accualy dislliked in this film was the "Gotta' dance" scene. In that scene, all that happened was littleraly a scene repeted for 20 minutes with just a change of the backround and Don's dance he was doing. But other than that, this was an amazing movie for it's time and i also learned more abour the transition between silent films and films with sound! I do extremely recomend this movie to musical and some comedy lovers. I would give this great film a rating of 4 out of 5 Junior Bacon Cheese Burgers.
